MY TPE EXPERIENCE

My Teaching Practice Exercise (TPE) experience (Years back)

As a double combination student
(Igbo/English) I was posted to Government Junior Secondary School (GJSS) Tunga-maje FCT Abuja.

When I got to the school, although I resumed a week late  due to the state of my job.
The school management did what they called Teaching Practice Students Induction (TPSI) where they will figure out if really you  understand the purpose you were sent to GJSS, then you will be assigned to a particular class according to your letter which displays your field of study.

I was assigned to Jss2 which had about 8 arms (Js2 A-H) and contains about 50 students each to take them on Igbo language.
Who are you to say it's much?
Do you want them to write nonsense about your performance to your school?
No!
Chukwu ajụ!

I was okay with that not until after (3) three weeks of my TPE when the school authority invited me for a meeting. I was like "Ọ gịnị ka ha chọkwara"?
Mrs. Chukwuma (The VP of Academics) an Edo woman married to an Igbo man, (She speaks Igbo Very well, if you are not told you will never believe she's an Edo.)
She called me "Ada Igbo (with smiles) Biko Nne, we will like you to leave Jss2 and handle Jss3 for us, you know it's an examination class.
Do you know why? She asked.
"No Ma." I answered.
She continued, "Your method of teaching is different from what we have been seeing from other TP students"
(I smiled)
I heard what she said but didn't understand maka na agụrụ akpụọla m isi that time.

When they informed my Teacher Mrs. Janet Ụka (A prayerful woman) I thought it was gonna be a bad news to her since she was a nursing mother and was a kind of relieved since I came but unfortunately, she came into our office and signalled me, m pụta n'ezi.
Immediately, she shouted "let's pray and appreciate God , I saw it coming, you have been promoted to Jss3" She said. (It happened on a Thursday)

Since I do not go to school on Fridays.
On Monday morning, it was announced during morning assembly.
Come and see coperation Jss3 were jubilating while Jss2 were shouting
Mba!
We disagree!!
Both Hausa Students shouting
 "Bazayiba!!"
 (it won't work!)
You know how Government school students behave nah.

I had a favorite student in Jss2 H by name Grace (My Mum's namesake) very smart and intelligent girl.
Immediately after assembly, she ran to me " Good morning Ms. Chinasa" she greeted, I knew she wanted to find out if the announcement was true or false.
I answered her "Morning Mummy, how are you?
Ms. Is it true that you are leaving Jss2?
I couldn't hold myself anyammiri wee jupụta n'anya. I don't know yet I answered (Facing another side) ka onye nkụzi ghara ịwụ onwe ya n'ala.
She started crying.
To be continued....
